FIRs to be Lodged Against Deported Pakistanis, Passports to be Cancelled

ISLAMABAD: Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has announced that FIRs will be filed against deported Pakistanis, their passports will be cancelled, and they will face a five-year travel ban.

During a key meeting held in Islamabad, chaired by Minister Naqvi, these decisions were made as part of efforts to address the issue of deportees. It was also decided that deportees will be placed on the Passport Control List for five years.

Following the meeting, Minister Naqvi directed the formation of a committee led by the Interior Secretary to further strengthen passport regulations and procedures. He emphasised that those deported from other countries tarnish Pakistan’s international reputation and therefore will not be treated with leniency in the future.

Also present at the meeting were Minister of State for Interior Tallal Chaudhry, Interior Secretary Khurram Agha, Director General FIA Riffat Mukhtar Raja, and Director General Passports Mustafa Jamal Qazi.
