Jason Holder and Andre Russell Return as West Indies Announce T20I Squads for England and Ireland Series

Cricket West Indies (CWI) has revealed its T20I squads for the upcoming series against England and Ireland, marking the return of senior all-rounders Jason Holder and Andre Russell.

Russell, who last played for the West Indies in November 2024 before an ankle injury sidelined him, will feature in the England leg but will be rested for the Ireland series. Holder also makes a comeback, having missed the 2024 T20 World Cup due to injury. His last T20I appearance came in February 2024.

Nicholas Pooran, however, has been rested for the tour following a busy IPL season.

The West Indies will take on England in a three-match T20I series following the conclusion of the ongoing ODI series at The Oval. They will then travel to Ireland for another three T20Is. Several players, along with members of the coaching staff—including Russell—will be rested for the Ireland leg.

Sherfane Rutherford is back in the mix after sitting out the Bangladesh series. Keacy Carty is set to join the squad for the Ireland series only, replacing Brandon King, who has been granted leave. New Test captain Roston Chase will depart after the England T20Is to focus on preparations for the upcoming Test series against Australia.

In a notable selection, Jyd Goolie, a former West Indies U-19 player, has received his first senior team call-up for the Ireland series.

Ahead of their Test series against Australia, the West Indies will also hold a training camp in Barbados from June 13–21, with the first Test set to begin on June 25.
