Defeats Kazakhstan 3-1 in High-Stakes Volleyball Showdown

Pakistan’s men’s volleyball team delivered a strong performance on Wednesday, securing a 3-1 victory over Kazakhstan to claim the bronze medal in the CAVA Nations League held in Fergana.With set scores of 25-19, 23-25, 25-16, and 25-22, the team demonstrated exceptional coordination, skill, and resilience to finish third in this prominent Central Asian volleyball tournament. The win not only brought home a bronze medal but also marked another step forward in Pakistan’s rise within the Asian volleyball scene.Highlighting the team’s success, Abdul Zaheer was named the tournament’s “Best Middle Blocker” in recognition of his stellar performance. His precise blocking and dominance at the net played a key role in Pakistan’s strong showing and earned him international acclaim.After a solid run in the group stage — including a convincing win over Kyrgyzstan and a tightly fought match against Kazakhstan — Pakistan advanced to the crossover round. Although they faced tough opponents in India and Iran, the team battled back to secure a place on the podium with their final victory.The squad, featuring standout players such as Usman Faryad Ali, Afaq Khan, Murad Khan, Kashif Naveed, Nasir Ali, Abdul Zaheer, and Musawer Khan, exhibited depth, determination, and a high level of play throughout the tournament.Pakistan Volleyball Federation (PVF) Chairman Ch. Muhammad Yaqoob expressed his pride, stating:> “Our team’s bronze medal finish and Abdul Zaheer’s individual honor are proud milestones for Pakistan. This success reflects the hard work of our players and coaches and the progress volleyball is making in our country.”Looking ahead, the team will now prepare for the AVC Men’s Nations Cup, set to take place in Bahrain from June 17 to 24, 2025.
