RAW Backing Terror Group to Destabilise Pakistan: Balochistan CM

QUETTA:Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has accused India’s intelligence agency, the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW), of financing and supporting a terrorist organisation named “Fitna-e-Hindustan” with the intent to destabilise Pakistan, particularly targeting Balochistan.Speaking at a high-profile press conference in Quetta, flanked by Provincial Minister for Planning and Development Zahoor Ahmed Buledi and the Chief Secretary of Balochistan, Bugti emphasized that the group had no association with the people of Balochistan or its cultural identity.> “Fitna-e-Hindustan is a terrorist outfit, not a Baloch movement. It has no ties to the Baloch nation,” he stated firmly. The CM revealed that the group is being actively supported and funded by RAW to sow unrest in Pakistan. He also showcased fabricated news stories aired by Indian media, including disinformation regarding operations at the Karachi Port, which he said were part of a broader disinformation campaign amid rising tensions between Pakistan and India.Journalists at the press briefing were played audio recordings of two alleged Fitna-e-Hindustan operatives—Shanbay and Rehman Gul—who were heard coordinating with their RAW handlers.Bugti also linked the recent Khuzdar attack, in which several innocent children lost their lives, to operatives acting on RAW’s orders through Fitna-e-Hindustan. He reiterated that these individuals do not represent the Baloch people, describing them as “mere pawns” in India’s proxy war against Pakistan.> “India is threatened by Pakistan’s economic progress and is attempting to sabotage our peace through indirect aggression,” he asserted. The chief minister also dismissed allegations of enforced disappearances as exaggerated propaganda, citing that many disappearances were voluntary, referencing claims made by the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) itself. He underlined the Baloch people’s honourable and proud traditions, making it clear they do not condone violence and extremism.> “They’re not targeting Punjabis—they’re targeting Pakistanis,” Bugti said.On the security approach, Bugti said there is no need for a large-scale military operation in Balochistan. The government, he explained, prefers political dialogue and a strategic response to maintain peace. However, he made it clear that those who take up arms against the state will be dealt with firmly. He concluded by reaffirming the state’s determination to resist all threats posed by Fitna-e-Hindustan and emphasized that any conspiracy aimed at disrupting Pakistan’s peace and development would be defeated.
