Pakistan Crush South Korea 91-6 in Asian Youth Netball Championship RoutThird straight win puts Green Shirts atop Pool B standings

Pakistan delivered a commanding performance at the Asian Youth Netball Championship 2025, overwhelming host nation South Korea 91-6 on Sunday in Jeonju. The emphatic win marked Pakistan’s third consecutive victory in the tournament and placed them firmly at the top of Pool B.

The Green Shirts dominated from the outset, racing to a 23-2 lead in the first quarter, which they extended to 45-3 by halftime. The onslaught continued in the third quarter, with the score ballooning to 70-4, before Pakistan sealed the match with a resounding 91-6 finish.

Key players in the victory included Leya Raza Shah, Alisha Naveed, Haleema, Sarina Hussain, Jasmine Farooq, Farah Rasheed, Amani, Parisa, Sumayya Ahmed, and Alina, who were all recognised for their standout performances.

Officials from the Pakistan Netball Federation (PNF) praised the team’s performance, congratulating the players and support staff for their continued success.

Pakistan is set to face Japan on Monday, followed by a clash with the Maldives on Tuesday, as they look to maintain their unbeaten streak.

In a post on Instagram, the PNF expressed heartfelt appreciation for head coach Amanda Newton, commending her for her “exceptional coaching, technical expertise, and unwavering dedication to the Pakistan Youth Girls Netball Team.”

“Under her guidance, our team has demonstrated tremendous skill and resilience, securing consistent wins at the Asian Youth Netball Championship in Jeonju,” the federation wrote.
“Your passion and commitment have inspired the team to reach new heights. Thank you for believing in Team Pakistan!”

Pakistan began their campaign with a 71-15 win over Saudi Arabia on Friday and followed it up with a 56-32 victory against Chinese Taipei on Saturday.

The 2025 Asian Youth Netball Championship is being held from June 27 to July 4 at the Jeonju Hwasan Gymnasium in South Korea, featuring 11 teams split into two groups:

  • Group A: Malaysia, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Hong Kong, India
  • Group B: Pakistan, Chinese Taipei, Japan, Korea, Maldives, Saudi Arabia

With three dominant wins under their belt, Pakistan are emerging as one of the tournament favourites.
