Former Pakistan captain Shoaib Malik has announced his retirement from the Pakistan Super League (PSL), bringing an end to a decade-long association with the tournament.
Taking to social media platform X on Tuesday, Malik reflected on his journey, saying:
“I cherish every moment and every friendship I’ve made, on and off the field, during my 10 years in the PSL. It’s time to call it a day. My passion and motivation to serve cricket will always remain. Thank you, PSL.”
In May last year, Malik had stepped down from his role as Domestic Cricket Mentor, citing the need to “move on” and focus on multiple personal and professional commitments while ensuring fairness in domestic cricket.
Over his PSL career, Malik featured for Karachi Kings, Multan Sultans, Peshawar Zalmi, and Quetta Gladiators, appearing in 93 matches and scoring 2,350 runs, according to ESPN Cricinfo.
