Bano Kousar Clinches Gold at the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025

Pakistan has emerged victorious at the Asian Jiu-Jitsu Championship 2025, held in Amman, Jordan, securing a total of six medals: one gold, two silver, and three bronze.

Bano Kousar secured the gold medal in the women’s 48-kilogram contact ju-jitsu category by defeating India’s Richa Sharma in a thrilling final, bringing pride and honor to Pakistan on the international stage.

Her victory on Day 3 of the championship stood out as a defining moment for Pakistan, reinforcing the country’s presence in global sports competitions.

The championship, featuring over 800 athletes from 27 nations, was a successful campaign for the Pakistani team. Muhammad Yousuf and Umar Yaseen added to the medal haul, winning silver in the U21 Duo and Show Men categories after a close final against Thailand. The pair had earlier triumphed over Vietnam in the semifinals.

This marks an important achievement for Yousuf and Yaseen, who previously secured gold in the U18 category at the 2024 championship.

Contributing further, M. Ali Rashid and M. Yousuf Ali earned bronze medals in the Duo and Show Men category, while Isra Waseem and Kainat Arif also captured bronze in the Duo and Show Women category.

Khalil Ahmed Khan, Chairman of the Pakistan Jiu-Jitsu Federation, expressed pride in the team’s impressive performance, stating:
