Pakistan Extends Official Visit Invitation to Trump

Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir held an extended two-hour meeting with U.S. President Donald Trump at the White House, where both leaders explored opportunities to deepen bilateral cooperation across multiple sectors, including trade, artificial intelligence, energy, cryptocurrency, and emerging technologies, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement.

The high-level meeting also featured detailed discussions on regional security, with particular focus on counter-terrorism collaboration, the recent ceasefire agreement between Pakistan and India, and growing tensions in the Middle East.

President Trump was joined by Secretary of State Senator Marco Rubio and Special Representative for Middle Eastern Affairs Steve Witkoff, while Field Marshal Munir was accompanied by Pakistan’s National Security Advisor.

Field Marshal Munir conveyed Pakistan’s gratitude to President Trump for his constructive role in facilitating the Pakistan-India ceasefire during a recent crisis. He also acknowledged Trump’s global leadership and diplomatic foresight in addressing complex international challenges.

President Trump, in turn, praised Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and stability and reaffirmed Washington’s appreciation for its counter-terrorism partnership with Islamabad. Both sides agreed to further strengthen cooperation in this critical area.

The discussion also included plans to expand ties in trade, economic development, mining, and technological innovation. President Trump expressed strong interest in building a long-term, mutually beneficial trade relationship with Pakistan grounded in strategic alignment and shared priorities.

The Iran-Israel conflict was another key topic, with both leaders stressing the need for a diplomatic resolution to prevent further escalation.

President Trump also commended Field Marshal Munir’s leadership during a period of heightened regional uncertainty.

Highlighting the cordial nature of the meeting, the ISPR noted that although the session was originally scheduled for one hour, it lasted over two, reflecting the depth and breadth of the dialogue.

As a gesture of goodwill, Field Marshal Munir formally invited President Trump, on behalf of the Government of Pakistan, to undertake an official visit to Pakistan at a mutually convenient time.
