Pakistan’s Foreign Office has strongly condemned recent Indian missile strikes, labeling them an unprovoked and flagrant act of aggression that violates both international law and Pakistan’s sovereignty.
Speaking on Wednesday, Foreign Office Spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated that the Indian Air Force launched attacks using standoff weapons while remaining within its own airspace, deliberately targeting civilian areas across the Line of Control (LoC) and the international border.
“The strikes hit civilian areas in Muridke and Bahawalpur across the international border, and in Kotli and Muzaffarabad in Azad Jammu and Kashmir,” Khan said. “These attacks martyred innocent civilians, including women and children, in an act of sheer cowardice.”
Khan also highlighted that these strikes endangered regional aviation, warning that they posed a significant risk to commercial air traffic and undermined global aviation safety standards.
“Pakistan unequivocally condemns this act of Indian aggression, which is a clear violation of the UN Charter, international legal principles, and the norms that govern relations between states,” he stated.
The spokesperson accused India of exploiting the Pahalgam incident to justify its military aggression and propagate a false terrorism narrative. “Once again, India has invoked terrorism as a cover to carry out military strikes, threatening regional peace and stability,” he said.
He cautioned that India’s reckless actions have pushed two nuclear-armed nations to the brink of conflict. “The situation remains highly volatile,” he added.
Khan affirmed that Pakistan retains the right to defend itself in accordance with Article 51 of the UN Charter and international law, and will determine the time and manner of its response.
“The government, military, and people of Pakistan stand united in the face of Indian aggression,” he said. “Pakistan will act decisively to protect its sovereignty and territorial integrity.”
