Foreign Office: India’s War Posture Should Alarm the World

Pakistan’s Foreign Office has sharply criticised India’s recent actions, warning that New Delhi’s “reckless conduct” has pushed the two nuclear-armed neighbours dangerously close to open conflict.

Speaking at a press briefing in Islamabad, Foreign Office spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan stated, “It is most unfortunate that India’s reckless conduct has brought the two nuclear-armed states closer to a major conflict.” He underscored that India’s escalating jingoism and hawkish posturing should alarm not just Pakistan, but the entire international community. “India’s jingoism and war hysteria should be a source of serious concern for the world,” he added, calling on global powers to take notice of the rising tensions.

This stark warning comes amid a period of heightened military and political tension, following recent cross-border strikes, drone incursions, and inflammatory rhetoric. While both governments have exchanged accusations over provocation and aggression, Pakistan has consistently emphasized the importance of restraint, dialogue, and respect for international norms.

Analysts warn that the current climate represents one of the most serious escalations in years, with the potential for miscalculation growing. Given the destructive power of nuclear weapons, even minor military incidents or miscommunications risk spiraling into catastrophic outcomes.

The Foreign Office’s statement serves as both a warning and an appeal: Pakistan is urging the international community, especially major powers and multilateral institutions, to step up diplomatic efforts to de-escalate the situation before it reaches a tipping point.

Pakistan has repeatedly called for peace talks, confidence-building measures, and the resumption of diplomatic channels to address the underlying grievances fueling tensions. However, Indian political narratives have increasingly leaned toward domestic nationalism, portraying assertive military postures as a projection of strength — a move critics say risks undermining long-term regional stability.

At this critical juncture, the responsibility to pull back from the brink does not rest on one side alone. Both Islamabad and New Delhi must act with wisdom, patience, and a commitment to safeguarding the lives and futures of their citizens.

The world, too, cannot afford to look away. As the Foreign Office cautioned, “India’s war hysteria is not just a regional problem — it is a global security concern.”
