A global hunger monitoring group has issued a warning that the entire population of Gaza remains at a critical risk of famine, according to Reuters.
The latest findings from the Integrated Food Security Phase Classification (IPC) assessed the situation from April 1 to May 10 this year and projected conditions through to the end of September.
The IPC report revealed that 1.95 million people, or 93% of Gaza’s population, are facing high levels of acute food insecurity. This includes 244,000 individuals experiencing the most extreme, or “catastrophic,” levels of food insecurity.
