Gold Prices Climb Sharply in Local and Global Markets; Silver Also Gains

24K gold jumps by Rs6,600 per tola; international prices up $66 an ounce

Gold prices recorded a significant surge on Tuesday both internationally and in local markets, continuing an upward trajectory fueled by global economic uncertainty.

In the international market, gold rose by $66, reaching $3,348 per ounce. Silver also saw gains, rising by $0.52 to settle at $35.50 per ounce.

Domestically, 24-karat gold prices jumped by Rs6,600 per tola, climbing to Rs356,800 from Rs350,200 a day earlier, according to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association. The price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold also rose sharply by Rs5,658, now standing at Rs305,898 compared to Rs300,240 on the previous trading day.

Similarly, 10 grams of 22-karat gold were priced at Rs280,416—an increase of Rs5,186 from Rs275,230.

Silver prices moved higher as well, with per tola silver up Rs52 to Rs3,834, while 10 grams rose by Rs45 to Rs3,287.

This follows Monday’s upward movement, where 24-karat gold increased by Rs800 per tola to reach Rs350,200, and the 10-gram rate rose by Rs686 to Rs300,240.
