ISLAMABAD: Indian media, once dominated by assertive and nationalistic rhetoric suggesting swift military victory over Pakistan, has noticeably shifted its tone following Pakistan’s retaliatory strikes under Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.
Earlier this week, several Indian channels had aired confident assertions about capturing Karachi Port and overpowering Pakistan’s defenses. However, following Pakistan’s precision strikes in Pathankot, Jammu, and Poonch, the media narrative in India has taken a sharp turn. Coverage has moved from triumphalism to introspection, with increasing criticism directed at the Indian government and military leadership.
Prominent nationalist voices are now highlighting footage of destruction, public discontent, and growing frustration across Indian cities — signaling a marked change in public sentiment.
A Reuters report noted that India’s stock market has suffered a staggering $83 billion loss, raising serious concerns among foreign investors over the country’s economic outlook amid escalating tensions.
In contrast, Pakistan is witnessing a surge in national unity. Citizens across the country have rallied behind the armed forces, with public displays of support and chants of “Pak Army Zindabad” echoing in towns and cities nationwide.
The ongoing developments underscore a stark contrast: while India grapples with growing internal criticism and economic pressure, Pakistan has projected a coordinated and unified front in both military and civilian spheres.
