Islamabad Hit by Hailstorms and Heavy Rainfall

A sudden spell of heavy rain, strong winds, and hailstorms swept through Islamabad and nearby areas on Wednesday, breaking the recent stretch of hot and dry weather.

The abrupt downpour, accompanied by powerful gusts, led to a noticeable drop in temperature, offering temporary relief from the heat. However, the intense hailstorm damaged several vehicles, with shattered car windows reported across the city.

Earlier in the day, weather authorities had predicted partly cloudy skies with chances of thunderstorms and hail in the evening.

Daytime temperatures ranged between 34°C and 36°C, with humidity levels around 64%.

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), hot and dry conditions are expected to return on Thursday and persist into Friday.

Elsewhere in the country, some upper and central regions also experienced scattered showers and strong winds due to a passing westerly weather system.
