ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s military leadership firmly stated on Thursday that no external force can intimidate or coerce the country, pledging to dismantle all hostile elements trained and financed to create instability within its borders.
This declaration came during the 270th Corps Commanders’ Conference held at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, chaired by Army Chief Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The forum congratulated the army chief on his recent elevation to the rank of Field Marshal, lauding his strategic vision, steadfast leadership, and enduring role in safeguarding national security.
Reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to protecting its sovereignty and territorial integrity, the corps commanders declared:
“No one can coerce Pakistan through force or threats. The country will take every necessary step to defend its vital interests.”
Targeting Indian-Backed Proxies
The military leadership expressed serious concern over terrorist proxies reportedly backed by India, particularly in Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. According to the statement, following setbacks in incidents like Pahalgam, India — portrayed as a perpetrator of regional instability — has resorted to covert tactics, using non-state actors to destabilise Pakistan.
The commanders stressed that the Pakistan Army, working closely with intelligence and law enforcement agencies, would pursue all terror facilitators and proxies with unwavering determination.
“These elements, funded and trained to incite chaos and fear, will be eradicated through the collective strength of national will and institutional power, InshaAllah,” the statement added.
Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and National Defence
The forum reviewed the internal and external security landscape, highlighting the success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos, a pivotal part of the broader Marka-e-Haq military initiative. Fateha was offered for the martyrs of this operation and the recent terrorist attack in Khuzdar, Balochistan — an act attributed to India-backed proxies that claimed the lives of four children and two adults.
The commanders condemned the targeting of civilians, particularly children, describing the attack as a blatant violation of human and international norms.
Tributes were paid to all martyrs of Marka-e-Haq who sacrificed their lives during India’s unprovoked aggression.
“Their sacred blood will not be shed in vain. Ensuring the security of our people remains the top priority,” the forum affirmed.
Media, Youth, and Political Leadership Commended
The statement praised Pakistan’s media and digital communicators for effectively countering Indian propaganda and promoting the national narrative, thereby reinforcing public confidence during a time of heightened tensions.
The commanders also acknowledged the enthusiasm and patriotic spirit of Pakistan’s youth, crediting their support for bolstering national resolve.
Furthermore, they appreciated the role of the political leadership in navigating the crisis during Marka-e-Haq, noting their clarity and commitment to national unity.
Strategic Posture and Regional Dynamics
The forum reviewed the broader regional security environment, including the Line of Control (LoC), Working Boundary, and the eastern frontier, particularly in light of the recent military tensions with India.
Expressing grave concern over human rights violations in Indian-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), the military commanders said such actions were fueling unrest and cycles of violence. They called for urgent international attention to prevent further deterioration of the regional situation.
They also reaffirmed Pakistan’s full diplomatic, political, moral, and humanitarian support for the people of Kashmir in their struggle for self-determination.
Army Chief’s Closing Remarks
Field Marshal Munir praised the high morale, readiness, and professionalism of the armed forces, as well as the unwavering support from the Pakistani public. He stressed the importance of remaining vigilant and prepared for any future challenges.
“The people of Pakistan are our greatest strength. We will honour their trust by continuing the fight against foreign aggression, terrorism, and extremism,” he said.
The conference concluded with a strong show of confidence in the operational capacity and commitment of Pakistan’s military institutions.
