Pakistani Cyber Offensive Strikes Indian Systems, BJP Website

Security sources report that Pakistan has launched a major cyberattack under the umbrella of Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos, targeting critical elements of India’s digital infrastructure.

Among the high-profile breaches, the official website of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has been compromised, along with several other key Indian institutions, security insiders confirmed.

Other impacted entities include the Crime Research Investigation Agency, Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Limited, Bharat Earth Movers Limited, and the All India Naval Technical Supervisory Staff Association — with reports indicating that their entire website content has been wiped out.

In addition, sensitive data leaks have emerged from Hindustan Aeronautics Limited, the Border Security Force (BSF), and the Unique Identification Authority of India. Security officials also cite breaches involving the Indian Air Force, the Maharashtra Election Commission, and various regional agencies.

Surveillance and Infrastructure Compromised

According to the sources, over 2,500 surveillance cameras across India have been hacked, disrupting real-time monitoring and significantly affecting operational security across multiple zones.

In a separate cyberattack, Pakistan’s hackers reportedly targeted the Maharashtra State Electricity Transmission Company Limited, disabling major parts of the state’s power grid. This breach led to widespread blackouts, erasing all commercial and residential meter records and bringing power services to a standstill.

A Broader Digital Strategy

Security officials described the cyber offensive as part of Pakistan’s strategic digital front, intended to weaken both India’s technological and military capabilities. They framed the operation as a calculated move within Pakistan’s wider defensive and offensive response against its regional rival.
