PCB Confirms PSL X to Continue as Scheduled Despite Indo-Pak Tensions

The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has announced that the HBL Pakistan Super League X (PSL 10) will proceed as planned, despite escalating tensions between Pakistan and India.

Tonight, Islamabad United will face off against the Quetta Gladiators at Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium, with the toss set for 7:30 PM and the match starting at 8:00 PM sharp. This match kicks off a four-game Rawalpindi leg, with matches scheduled for May 7, 8, 9, and 10. The final league stage match will take place in Multan on May 11.

The update was also shared on the official Pakistan Super League Instagram page, energizing fans with the caption: “IT’S GAME DAY IN ISLAMABAD 🙌🏼 ❤️ Red Hot Team vs Purple Force 💜.”

The PCB’s confirmation comes against the backdrop of heightened regional tensions, following a series of cross-border military escalations. Official sources report that Pakistan’s armed forces have shot down five Indian Air Force jets, a combat drone, and destroyed an Indian brigade headquarters in response to missile strikes on cities in Punjab and Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

Despite the security concerns, the PCB has assured that the PSL X schedule remains intact. The playoff phase is set to begin with the Qualifier in Rawalpindi on May 13, followed by the two Eliminators on May 14 and 16, and culminating in the Final at Lahore’s Gaddafi Stadium on May 18.
