Leaders express solidarity with bereaved families, pledge to defeat terrorism
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Saturday strongly condemned a deadly gun attack on police personnel in Swabi that left two officers martyred.
According to police, unidentified assailants opened fire late Friday night within the jurisdiction of IDS Police Station, killing Constable Jamal Din and driver Zahid at the scene. The attackers fled before law enforcement could respond. The bodies were subsequently shifted to a nearby hospital.
In a statement issued by the PM Office, Shehbaz Sharif offered prayers for the fallen officers and extended heartfelt condolences to their families. He directed authorities to launch a thorough investigation and ensure those responsible are brought to justice with “exemplary punishment.”
“Our resolve to eliminate terrorism remains unwavering. We will not rest until this scourge is eradicated,” the prime minister said, while commending the dedication of the police force in defending the country.

Interior Minister Naqvi also paid tribute to the slain officers, describing them as heroes who made the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. “We stand firmly with the grieving families during this difficult time,” he said.
Naqvi praised the courage and commitment of the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Police, calling them “valiant sons of the soil” who have made immense sacrifices in the ongoing fight against terrorism.
Funeral prayers for the martyred officers were held at Police Line Shah Mansoor, attended by senior police officials and local authorities.
