Tump Assistant Commissioner Abducted Near Tigranabad, Balochistan

Hanif Noorzai, Assistant Commissioner of Tump, was kidnapped on Wednesday morning near Tigranabad while traveling with his family en route to Quetta, local sources reported.

Eyewitnesses said that six to eight armed men stopped his official vehicle, forcibly took him at gunpoint, and escaped with the vehicle. His wife, driver, and official security guard were left behind unharmed.

Security forces responded swiftly, launching an extensive search operation in the area. Checkpoints have been established along Zubaida Jalal Road and surrounding routes, with intelligence agencies actively working to track down the kidnappers.

The abduction of such a high-ranking government official has heightened concerns about the security of civil servants in Balochistan, especially in the Makran region. So far, no group has claimed responsibility, and authorities have yet to identify the perpetrators.

Efforts to locate and safely recover Assistant Commissioner Noorzai are ongoing.

Earlier this week, on June 2, seven terrorists reportedly linked to the India-backed group Fitna al-Hindustan were killed in two separate operations in Balochistan.

The federal government has officially branded all terrorist groups operating in Balochistan under the name ‘Fitna al-Hindustan,’ accusing India of waging a proxy war through these outfits.

A notification from the Ministry of Interior cited “the involvement of certain organizations and groups in terrorist activities in Balochistan that undermine Islamic faith, Pakistan’s sovereignty, and cultural traditions.”

The directive aims to expose the “true nature and ideology” of these groups and their “malicious designs” sponsored by India.

“All government departments are instructed to implement this designation immediately,” the notification stated, signaling a unified effort to reshape the narrative surrounding insurgency in the province.

This announcement follows Islamabad’s accusation that India has intensified indirect aggression after its setback in a recent security operation named “Marka-e-Haq.”
