Turkey: Hamas More Open to Deal for Lasting Peace with Israel

Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan stated that recent talks with Hamas have indicated the group’s increased openness to negotiating a deal that goes beyond a ceasefire in Gaza and seeks a lasting resolution to the ongoing crisis with Israel, according to Reuters.

Speaking in Doha, Fidan highlighted that these discussions revealed Hamas’s willingness to engage in an agreement that also addresses key issues such as the occupied Palestinian territories. He suggested that the current crisis could be seen as an opportunity to push for the implementation of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.
