Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will embark on a multi-nation tour from Sunday, visiting Turkiye, Iran, Azerbaijan, and Tajikistan, the Foreign Office announced on Friday. The visit comes just two weeks after a US-brokered ceasefire ended recent hostilities between Pakistan and India.
Scheduled from May 25 to 30, the prime minister will hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of the four countries to discuss regional and global matters of mutual concern.
According to FO spokesperson Shafqat Ali Khan, PM Sharif will also convey Pakistan’s appreciation for the support shown by these “brotherly nations” during the recent tensions with India.
In addition, the prime minister will attend the International Conference on Glaciers in Dushanbe, Tajikistan, on May 29 and 30.
