Israeli airstrikes on Monday morning killed over 50 Palestinians in Gaza, targeting a school sheltering displaced families in Gaza City and a home in Jabalia, northern Gaza.
According to Al Jazeera, the Israeli military reported hitting more than 200 targets in Gaza over the past 48 hours.
Medical sources told Anadolu Agency that 30 people were killed in the airstrike on the Fahmi Al-Jirjawi school, which was being used as a shelter in Gaza City’s al-Daraj neighborhood. Local sources, including Al-Aqsa TV, said the bombing set fire to nearby tents, with horrifying videos showing charred bodies—including children—and survivors crying out in the flames.

Witness reports described the scene as one of “charred corpses and the screams of displaced people engulfed in flames.”
The Israeli army confirmed the strike on the school, claiming that Hamas had turned it into a “command and control center,” although no evidence was provided to back up this claim.
In a separate attack, 19 people were killed and several others injured when an Israeli airstrike hit a house in Jabalia, a town in northern Gaza, according to medical sources. Eyewitnesses told Anadolu Agency that the building, housing dozens of displaced residents, was completely demolished.

The intensified attacks come amid a nearly three-month-long blockade of humanitarian aid into Gaza, drawing growing international condemnation. World leaders gathered in Madrid over the weekend to call for an end to what they described as an “inhumane” and “senseless” war, while aid agencies warned that the limited resumption of supplies is far from sufficient to address Gaza’s deepening hunger and health crises.
The Ongoing War in Gaza
Gaza’s health ministry reported on Sunday that at least 3,785 Palestinians have been killed since a ceasefire broke down on March 18, bringing the total death toll in the conflict to 53,939, most of them civilians, according to AFP.
Israel’s military campaign has displaced around 90% of Gaza’s population of 2 million, causing widespread destruction and a severe food crisis.
Since October 2023, Israel’s brutal offensive has killed at least 61,000 Palestinians, the majority of them women and children, Al Jazeera reported.
Last November, the International Criminal Court issued arrest warrants for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza. Israel is also facing a genocide case at the International Court of Justice.
