A powerful bomb blast in Bajaur’s Nawagai area on Wednesday left at least four people dead and 11 others injured, local authorities confirmed.
The explosion occurred on Nawagai Road near Sadiqabad Phatak in Khar Tehsil, reportedly targeting an official government vehicle. Among the fatalities were the Assistant Commissioner of Nawagai, the local Tehsildar, a police subedar, and a constable, according to police sources.
Rescue teams swiftly transported the injured to Khar Hospital, where emergency medical care is ongoing. Efforts to secure and clear the blast site are still underway.
Authorities have not yet disclosed the nature of the explosive device used, and no group has claimed responsibility for the attack at this time.
