The federal government has announced an immediate 60-day suspension on the import and export of gold, diamonds, gemstones, and jewellery.
The Ministry of Commerce has officially issued directives to enforce this temporary ban.
According to the ministry’s notification, the previous order regulating the trade of precious stones and jewellery — originally established under SRO No. 760()/2013 — has been put on hold for two months.
A senior official from the Ministry of Commerce confirmed that this notification effectively stops all cross-border trade involving gold, diamonds, gemstones, and jewellery for the next 60 days.
