Cyberattack cripples nearly 70% of India’s power grid, say security sources
Pakistan has launched a series of retaliatory strikes in the early hours of Saturday, responding to ongoing Indian aggression, according to security sources. This military campaign has been officially named Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos.
As part of this operation, Pakistani forces are specifically targeting all Indian bases identified as launch points for attacks against Pakistani civilians and mosques. Security sources confirmed that multiple strategic sites are under simultaneous assault as the operation intensifies.
According to these sources, Pakistan has deployed its Al-Fatah missile during the current retaliatory phase, naming the missile in honor of the Pakistani children killed in recent Indian cross-border attacks. They emphasized that Pakistan has neither forgotten nor will ever forget the sacrifice of these innocent victims, who were martyred just days ago.
Security officials reported that numerous Indian targets have been hit using Pakistan’s Fatah-1 missile system, with newly released footage documenting at least one such successful strike.
Drone Surveillance over Delhi and Gujarat
Meanwhile, Pakistani drones have been conducting reconnaissance missions over India’s capital, Delhi, and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s home state of Gujarat for the past three hours, according to operational reports.
In a major development, a military intelligence training facility in Rajouri — identified as a center for organizing and training operatives for attacks inside Pakistan — has been destroyed as part of the operation, security officials revealed.
In addition, Pakistan confirmed the destruction of India’s Akhnoor Aviation Base, Bathinda Airfield, and Sirsa Airfield, with Indian media itself acknowledging the damage sustained at Sirsa. Furthermore, an Indian artillery position in Dehrangyari was eliminated, along with a BrahMos missile storage facility in Nagrota, which suffered heavy losses, the sources added.
The Adampur Airfield, identified as the launch site for missiles aimed at Sikh-populated areas in Amritsar, as well as at Pakistani and Afghan targets, was also destroyed in the Pakistani retaliatory strikes, security sources confirmed.
Pakistan Warns of Further Escalation
Security officials emphasized that Pakistan is engaging multiple high-value targets and has inflicted significant damage on Indian military positions. They warned that if India responds to Pakistan’s retaliation, Islamabad will escalate its strikes to include India’s economic assets. Pakistan’s leadership has made clear that any further provocation will be met with severe consequences.
India Hit by Major Power Outages
Simultaneously, widespread power outages have been reported across India. Security sources attributed this to a cyberattack that disabled nearly 70% of India’s power grid infrastructure, disrupting electricity supplies nationwide.
In a notable incident, the Chief Minister of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK), Omar Abdullah, confirmed the death of a senior civil officer in Rajouri due to Pakistani shelling.
“Devastating news from Rajouri. We have lost a dedicated officer of the J&K Administration Services,” Abdullah posted on X.
The deceased, Additional District Development Commissioner Sh Raj Kumar Thappa, was killed when his home was struck during cross-border shelling. Abdullah remarked that the officer had accompanied the Deputy Chief Minister on a district tour just a day earlier and had attended an official meeting shortly before his death. “I have no words to express my shock and sadness at this terrible loss. May his soul rest in peace,” Abdullah added.
Pakistan Responds to Indian Airstrikes
India launched airstrikes targeting three Pakistan Air Force (PAF) bases: Nur Khan, Murid, and Shorkot. In an emergency press briefing held early Saturday, Director General ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed that all PAF assets were unharmed.
“Continuing its naked aggression, India has fired air-to-surface missiles using its jets. PAF Nur Khan base, PAF Murid base, and Shorkot base were targeted,” Lt Gen Chaudhry stated.
He further reported that the majority of Indian missiles aimed at PAF airbases were successfully intercepted by Pakistan’s defense systems. He acknowledged that a few missiles “sneaked in,” but according to preliminary damage assessments, they caused no harm to PAF’s operational assets.
Lt Gen Chaudhry reaffirmed that Pakistan’s armed forces remain “vigilant and are countering all cowardly acts of Indian aggression.” He described these latest strikes as part of India’s broader and escalating hostility, driven by rising internal instability.
“These blatant acts of aggression by India reflect the paranoia gripping the Indian mindset, which only grows with every failed attack,” he said. “This paranoia deepens further when they realize they cannot break the resolve and determination of the Pakistani people, which only strengthens after each cowardly act.”
He predicted that this “mounting frustration and paranoia” within India’s strategic circles will only intensify as Pakistan’s defense response continues to hold firm.
Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar spoke to Geo News around 7 a.m., stating that Pakistan is acting in self-defense and had no option but to respond to India’s military provocations.
“The circus India has put on over the past three days — we will not allow India to assert dominance,” Dar emphasized. “Both the Pakistan Armed Forces and the government are fully committed to ensuring this does not happen.”
Speaking about the military actions underway, he said, “This operation we launched today — how it concludes will entirely depend on India’s next moves.”
Dar explained that Pakistan’s civil and military leadership decided to retaliate following the attack on the Nur Khan Air Base, noting, “We had no choice left. Our patience has run out. What we are doing now is simply delivering a response.”
He added, “We have shown considerable patience until now. But there’s a limit we cannot exceed, especially when faced with hypocrisy and double standards.”
Pakistan Tracks Indian Missile Launches
Lt Gen Chaudhry confirmed that the PAF has collected electronic signatures for all Indian missiles used in recent attacks, including detailed data on their launch points and intended targets. “Our air defense systems have effectively neutralized India’s intended objectives,” he asserted.
He further pointed out that the timing of India’s missile and drone strikes on Afghanistan, shortly after the launches from Indian Punjab, suggests a wider, sinister plan to push the region toward chaos.
He warned that India is attempting to drag the entire region into catastrophic conflict. “Now you just wait for our response,” he concluded.
India’s Reckless Moves Criticized
Earlier, Lt Gen Chaudhry revealed that India had launched six ballistic missiles from the Adampur airbase in Indian Punjab. One of the missiles reportedly landed near Adampur itself, while the remaining five struck areas in the Amritsar region.
He characterized this as a reckless action, endangering civilian lives and raising critical questions about India’s operational intent and internal targeting protocols.
Lt Gen Chaudhry stressed that the attacks were not accidental, accusing India of deliberately targeting Sikh-populated areas in Punjab to stir hostility among Sikhs against Pakistan.
Pakistan Rejects Indian Claims
During a Friday briefing for foreign media, Pakistan’s top military spokesperson challenged India to provide evidence of Pakistan’s alleged drone and missile strikes on Indian military facilities.
“Pakistan has not used drones or rockets. If India claims otherwise, let it bring forward proof,” he said, accusing Indian media of spreading fabricated stories.
Lt Gen Chaudhry clarified that Pakistan’s military retaliation was limited to Indian military positions actively firing on civilian areas along the Line of Control (LoC).
He was joined by PAF Director General Public Relations (DGPR) Air Vice Marshal Aurangzeb Ahmed and Deputy Chief of Naval Staff (Operations) Rear Admiral Raja Rab Nawaz, who briefed the media on the evolving LoC situation and its regional implications.
They strongly rejected Indian accusations regarding the Pahalgam attack and warned that India’s actions threaten to destabilize regional peace.
