Pakistan Railways Offers Eidul Azha Fare Discounts and Special Train Services

To make travel easier during Eidul Azha, the federal government has announced significant discounts on train fares for three days of the holiday, according to Express News.

Railways Minister Hanif Abbasi shared the news at a media briefing on Monday, adding that five special trains would be run during Eid to accommodate the expected surge in travel.

“These special trains will operate throughout the holiday period to help people reach their hometowns for the celebrations,” Abbasi explained. He also assured that all commitments made to the media would be upheld.

Speaking about the achievements of Pakistan Railways, Abbasi noted that the department had reached impressive milestones in its 77-year history, particularly over the past 11 months. “The performance of Pakistan Railways has been exceptional,” he said.

He further revealed that the department was generating revenue from its leased properties. “Following the Prime Minister’s vision, Royal Palm will be outsourced through a transparent bidding process, and bids will be opened publicly,” the minister noted.

Abbasi also announced a budget allocation of Rs1 billion for the eight railway hospitals. While efforts are being made to outsource these hospitals, he assured that medical services for railway employees would remain free of charge.
