Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in Jeddah for a two-day official visit to Saudi Arabia, responding to an invitation extended by Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud.Upon landing in Jeddah on Thursday, the Prime Minister was received by Prince Saud bin Abdullah Al Jilawi, Governor of Jeddah, along with Saudi Ambassador to Pakistan Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Saudi Arabia Ahmed Farooq, and other senior diplomatic representatives.Shortly after his arrival, the Prime Minister and his delegation proceeded to Makkah to perform Umrah.According to a statement from Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PM Shehbaz is scheduled to meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman during his stay. The discussions will focus on strengthening bilateral cooperation in trade and investment, supporting the welfare of the Muslim Ummah, and addressing key regional peace and security issues.The Prime Minister is also expected to thank the Saudi leadership for its role in helping ease recent tensions between Pakistan and India, acknowledging Riyadh’s ongoing efforts to promote regional stability.“This visit highlights the enduring and strategic relationship between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia, built on shared religious and cultural values, mutual respect, and a longstanding partnership. It reflects both nations’ intent to deepen economic collaboration in line with Saudi Vision 2030 and Pakistan’s development goals,” the official statement noted.This visit comes shortly after Prime Minister Sharif concluded a diplomatic tour of four countries aimed at reinforcing regional alliances and expressing appreciation for support during the latest escalation with India. The tour emphasized Pakistan’s commitment to peace and the strengthening of key international partnerships.
