Army Chief Commends Pakistani Media’s Responsible Coverage During India Conflict

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir has lauded the Pakistani media for its responsible and commendable conduct during the recent conflict with India, describing its role as a source of national pride, Express News reported.

Speaking informally to journalists in Islamabad during a Youm-e-Tashakur (Day of Gratitude) event, General Munir highlighted that the media upheld transparency by conveying the full truth to the public and avoided sensationalism. He praised the media’s composed and measured response to Indian outlets, calling it both memorable and exemplary.

He also celebrated the success of Operation Bunyanum Marsoos and Marka-e-Haq, emphasizing that the entire nation stood in unity against the adversary.

General Munir contrasted the Pakistani media’s professionalism with the aggressive rhetoric seen in several Indian media reports during the conflict. Indian outlets had aired unverified and false claims, including fabricated stories about attacks on Karachi Port, plans to seize Islamabad, and false reports that Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was preparing to surrender — all of which were later discredited.

In contrast, Pakistani news outlets showed restraint, relying on official information provided by Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) and the government’s information department, maintaining credibility and composure throughout the escalation.
