Four Victims Reported in Critical Condition
MIRANSHAH:
Hospital sources reported on Tuesday that at least 15 individuals, including children, sustained injuries in a suspected quad-copter strike near a volleyball ground in the Azam Warsak area of Birmil Tehsil, South Waziristan.
All the injured were rushed to the District Headquarters Hospital in Wana, where four are currently in critical condition. Hospital officials have issued an urgent call for blood donations.
Zubair Khan, a National Assembly member representing South Waziristan, strongly condemned the attack, describing it as a “brutal and inhumane act.” He emphasized that “there is no justification for targeting unarmed civilians” and demanded accountability for those responsible.
This incident is the second of its kind in the region within the last two weeks.
On May 20, a quad-copter dropped explosives on a house in the Hormuz area of Mir Ali Tehsil in neighboring North Waziristan. That attack killed four children from one family and critically injured their mother and several other women. The strike provoked widespread condemnation from local tribes and activists, who protested for a week by blocking all access points to the district.
